The highly hydrophilic surface of the SiC material is a superior characteristic for any oily water filtration. Oil and grease contents cannot get sticky on the membrane surface and will be easily removed during backwash. Due to excellent tolerances to very high oil contents, the SiC ceramic flat sheet membrane enables the combination of common secondary, tertiary oil/water separation and polishing to one single filtration step.
